When you love Christmas as much as Dawn and Richard do, is there really any other option but to have your wedding day match the upcoming festivities? We think not!
After getting engaged on Christmas Day 2020 (we told you they were mad about Christmas!), the happy couple immediately started thinking about how they wanted their big day to look. And eager to have it feel as magical and romantic as possible, they soon found themselves drafting up ‘Winter Wonderland’ mood boards.
Once the venue (a luxury manor house hotel overlooking the Cornwall coast), dress, decorations, entertainment and the guest list were all sorted out, Dawn and Richard began hunting for the perfect catering service to handle their needs on the day. It wasn’t long before they discovered Hog Roast Golant, and after falling in love with our Full Festive Menu plan, they excitedly placed a booking.
The days leading up to the wedding raced by, and on Friday, the 2nd of December, our team made the trip to Dawn and Richard’s chosen venue where Hog Roast Golant’s catering manager, Paul, wasted no time setting up the cooking machine and serving tables at the very back of the function hall. The room had already been set up in preparation for the wedding party’s arrival. The plush white carpet looked like snow, and around the room, dining tables were layered with ice-white tablecloths and matching chair covers, white and gold flower arrangements and scented candles. They had even changed the lighting in the room to a crisp, light blue, which added to the overall atmosphere.
Hog Roast Golant worked quickly and efficiently to create a tasty turkey feast for the guests, which was served with cranberry sauce, stuffing, homemade cauliflower cheese, a medley of glazed seasonal vegetables, homemade gravy, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes. The guests, much to the newly married couple’s delight, loved every bite – especially when it was time for dessert and our team served up homemade traditional mince pies with brandy cream and a warm glass of mulled wine!
To entertain the children, Dawn and Richard had also arranged for Santa Claus to make an appearance and hand out the wedding favours to everyone, which was a lovely touch to the day.
