Who doesn’t love a good wedding? The romance, the time spent with loved ones, the joining of two families and the food. Oh, the food! While we’re willing to admit that a smidge of bias might come into play here (what with us being caterers and consequent food lovers!), if you were to ask us, we’d tell you that the food is hands down, one of the best things about a wedding! But we also know that the weight of its importance can make the task of choosing the right menu and caterer all the more stress-inducing for brides and grooms.
The good news is, though, that it doesn’t have to be so difficult. And luckily for Rhian and Brett, they discovered Hog Roast Torpoint before getting hitched and were glad when we took all the stress and fear out of catering for them. Instead, we made the process a simple and enjoyable one, and our catering manager, Paul, was there every step of the way to answer the couple’s questions, alter the menu when needed and assure them that everything on the day would be just what they wanted.
Last month, when the time finally came for Rhian and Brett to tie the knot, Hog Roast Torpoint journeyed to Polhawn Fort, which is known for being an extremely popular wedding destination and one we’ve had the pleasure of catering at many, many times before. Overlooking Cornwall’s South Coast, this beautiful cliff top venue is a truly magical spot, and our familiarity with the site made it really easy for the team to carry out the booking.
After choosing the right place to set up the catering equipment, Hog Roast Torpoint sprung into action, and within hours, they had whipped up a show-stopping hog roast banquet, complete with homemade savoury sage and onion stuffing, delicious crackling, applesauce, baby roasted potatoes and gluten-free rolls. They also chopped fresh peppers, red onion, mushrooms, courgettes and halloumi cheese, which they arranged on skewers before chargrilling and serving with tzatziki dip and flatbreads to the veggies and vegans.
The happy couple and their 90-strong wedding party had a wonderful time, and they were all very impressed with the quality of the food that Hog Roast Torpoint presented them with.
