We were out on Sunday catering for a 50th birthday party hog roast in Carlyon Bay and we were so pleased that the sun was shining bright! A relief as we were catering out door and it would have been a bit of a disaster if it had rained. We love out door events and to be fair that is what summer catering is all about cooking and eating in the great out door but you never can tell as our weather is so predictable and rain can surface when we are least expecting it too and we always bring a large waterproof marquee to shade and in case it rains! Hog Roast Carlyon Bay had also just employed two new staff and this was there first catering outing with us and they were very excited and a little nervous which really they had no need as they were professional caterer with great experience behind them. Hog Roast Hire were asked to cook a three course lunch for one hundred guests we love doing lunch! Starters there was a choice of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup home made with the finest of ingredients and always a winner, main was leg of spring lamb with mint sauce or chicken and stuffing with baby new potatoes in a butter sauce, broccoli, carrots and sweet peas and the meal would not be complete without our thick gravy dessert was apple crumble and custard a favourite with the lady who was turning 50 and no choice just crumble she wanted all her guests to have crumble the guests were all shown to their seats upon arrival and our new staff were doing a great job we were so proud! Mingling with the guests and so polite and courteous which we do insist upon but to most it does come naturally the courses were served and everyone waited in anticipation for the delicious crumble and they were not disappointed at the crumble we do make a wonderful crumble using the finest apples from a great farm near us we all sang happy birthday and congratulated our new staff as we left they really did us proud…
