Liskeard is not only a civil parish and market town in southeast Cornwall but also an ancient stannary – one of only five in the county. In the Domesday Book, our lovely Cornish town was named Liscarret and was said to have a mill, a market and plenty of sheep, and now we have a population of several thousand, plenty of historic buildings and lots to offer both residents and visitors.
