Earlier this month, Hog Roast Camborne packed up our trusty catering van and set course for a familiar destination – the stunning, Stennack Farm. After navigating a labyrinth of country lanes that led us past endless green fields dotted with grazing cattle, we finally heard the crunch of gravel under the tyres which told us we’d arrived.
The venue opened up in front of us just as impressively as always. A beautiful farmhouse and cottage, a perfectly manicured courtyard and that gorgeous converted barn that somehow blends rustic charm with modern polish without feeling like it’s trying too hard. We’d last been here back in July – when the sunshine made the whole place glow – but seeing it touched by autumn honestly felt even more special.
Once we’d finished admiring the view (briefly, promise), we got straight to work unloading the van. With 85 guests due at 4pm, there was no time to waste, so the gazebo went up and the grill got fired up quickly, giving everything plenty of time to cook before guests started arriving. The happy couple who’d booked us for their wedding wanted the full hog roast experience and we were determined to deliver.
Using a hand-picked free-range pig from a nearby farm, Hog Roast Camborne put together a hog roast that hit the spot, with sage and onion stuffing, applesauce and that all-important crackling on the side. Rolls and wraps sat ready for anyone after a proper sandwich, while tomato and mozzarella salad, coleslaw, mixed salad and herby new potatoes rounded things out nicely.

With 14 children on the guest list, the couple asked us to include classic fries too, with sauce, salt and vinegar all on offer to keep the little ones happy. We also brought marinated chicken thighs for anyone skipping pork, plus grilled veggie kebabs and BBQ pulled jackfruit for the non-meat-eaters in the crowd.
The variety and quality clearly didn’t go unnoticed, because by the end of the night, guests couldn’t stop singing our praises. Best of all the happy couple were absolutely delighted and told us they couldn’t have picked a better team to handle the food than Hog Roast Camborne.
