As the famous quote of Ned Stark from Game of Thrones goes ‘Winter is coming’ and with it a change in menu for Hog Roast Carnkie. As with most places, Hog Roast Carnkie has a fantastic Christmas menu, but until December or rather late November that doesn’t appear. The colder months menu just involves the switch from colder choices to hot choices for example, the switch from nice and cool salads to warm and hearty vegetables.
Hog Roast Carnkie has had this first switch, a bespoke alfresco menu for Jim. It began with flavour-filled antipasti boards, a rustic-styled board displaying a medley of fine and indulgent cheeses and delightful tantalising meats with complimentary nibbles. Typically, the antipasti boards are served with artisan breads and an extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip, however Jim requested them to be served with a hot roll and portion of butter.
The main course entailed a delicious Hog Roast with all its trimmings, roasted garlic and herb new potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The Alfresco menu’s main course is usually three fresh and colourful salads rather than the seasonal vegetables. Hog Roast Carnkie did a medley of greens, mangetout, garden peas, green beans and broccoli and a mixture of mini carrots and baby corn. The vegetables had a hint of mint in them for extra flavour. Since Jim had asked for vegetables rather than salads, Hog Roast Carnkie thought it would be best to include their homemade gravy.
To finish Hog Roast Carnkie’s delightful desserts! Jim had requested warm puddings over the cool and light sweet treats the Alfresco menu usually has to offer. Consequently, Jim’s guests indulged in a heart-warming sticky toffee pudding and heavenly apple pie, both served with hot custard.
Jim and his guests were pleased that the meal was served on environmentally conscious plates and cutlery, something at the heart of Hog Roast Carnkie’s service.
A heavenly menu developed to suit Jim’s desires. The swap for more warming foods is highlighted throughout this menu. Summer is well and truly gone.
