Turning 21 is a big occasion – it’s when we embark on our journeys as full-fledged adults, ready to make our own way in the world. That’s why a 21st birthday party has to be something unforgettable. On Saturday 23rd June, Miss Julia Danes celebrated her passage into adulthood in style at her parents’ beautiful 19th century house on the outskirts of Bodmin. It was a baking, sun kissed day without a cloud to be seen, meaning that Miss Danes and her guests could take full advantage of the house’s sizeable back garden. Looking resplendent in a knee length red dress, Miss Danes shared the day with friends and family, of whom 50 turned up to celebrate. And celebrate they did, with the help of Spitting Pig. We provided all of the catering for this event and, we hope, helped to make it as magical as it was. As always, all of the food was fresh, locally sourced and cooked on site – which only added to the irresistible aroma of meat that hung over the party and, we were later assured, caused so many expectant mouths to water over the course of the afternoon.
The guests at this function had no shortage of food to choose from, with a fresh fish barbeque, a hog roast, and a full meat barbeque – including turkey, spit roasted chicken and homemade burgers on offer. All of this came with the usual delicious accompaniments – apple sauce, stuffing, crispy crackling, new potatoes and onion gravy. In addition, our chefs had prepared two fresh salads, complete with feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes and creamy coleslaw made on site, to compliment the array of mouth watering meats on offer. To make Miss Danes’ guests feel even more at home, we provided real crockery and service staff for the occasion, meaning the party goers could enjoy our delicious array of food at their leisure and in real comfort.
Well-fed and feeling satisfied, the guests at Miss Danes’ function then took full advantage of the outdoor bar and disco. It was balmy until late in the evening, and a good time was assuredly had by all. With the festivities in full swing, our staff took the opportunity to clear away the crockery and leftovers – just to give the party goers even more space to enjoy themselves! But food was still available long into evening – meaning the guests could refill their tanks, ready for more dance floor action.
Miss Danes’ 21st was a huge success, as she later attested. “A 21st is a big event in someone’s life, so I wanted mine to be perfect, and I was so pleased it was such a great day. The weather was great, all my friends and family came, the food was just delicious and there was so much of it to choose from. It was all really well organised as well, which made the day totally stress free.”
We were proud that we could make Julia’s big day not only so straightforward, but also provide a little extra joy in the form of our first class food.
