This October, Hog Roast Port Isaac provided catering for a leaving party hosted for CJ and Paul by their colleagues at The Mote Restaurant. The pair had worked at the restaurant for a while and were dedicated members of staff, so the remaining team wanted to do something to commemorate their leaving. The event was set to take place at the restaurant, which has the wonderful backdrop of Doc Martin’s home, made famous by the TV show! For the catering, our manager Paul was hired to provide a delicious slow-roasted menu for the 80 guests, with a variety of main dishes to choose from.
Paul and the Hog Roast Port Isaac team arrived at the restaurant early on the day of the event, as we needed plenty of time to slow-roast the dishes before the 1:00pm mealtime. For the mains, we prepared a BBQ pulled pork butt, Cajun spiced whole-roasted chickens, quarter pulled minted lamb, and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. This variety ensured that there was something for every guest to enjoy, and more than enough to go around! We served the mains with Greek salad, corn cobettes, and roasted baby new potatoes, to create a varied and delicious lunch. The catering was served buffet style on wooden bamboo crockery, allowing every guest to create their ideal meal from what we had to offer. The event was a lot of fun, and it was great to see everyone saying farewell to two valued team members.
