With February otherwise known as the ‘ month of love’, it probably won’t surprise you to hear that Hog Roast Pelynt’s caterers have a long string of romantic bookings lined up over the next few weeks, starting with Alexander and Eloise’s wedding on the first Saturday of the month.
Soon after getting engaged last summer, the sweethearts reached out to us to start planning their dream coastal wedding, which is set to take place at Cornwall’s iconic Polhawn fort. Overlooking glittering sapphire seas and white sandy beaches, the historic, Napoleonic stronghold proudly sits atop ragged cliffs and is surrounded by stunning countryside views for as far as the eye can see.
Having chosen such a breath taking location to tie the knot at, the couple came to Hog Roast Pelynt looking for a menu befitting the elegance and charm of their venue, and with help from our catering manager, Paul, they were able to find exactly what they were looking for.
The couple were impressed by each of the pre-set wedding plans we have available, but in the end, it was our Wedding Catering Menu with an evening buffet that won them over. Offering a selection of five canapés, two main courses, a meat-free option, plenty of side dishes and a delicious evening spread, this comprehensive banquet ticked every box the couple had set – and then some!
From the wealth of options available, the couple has crafted a menu that will begin with smoked Scottish salmon, chicken satay skewers, a selection of mini pizzas, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini and roasted duck followed by the guests choice of a traditional hog roast, spit-roasted English lamb with Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce or grilled veggie skewers. There will also be salad and potato sides served with each dish, and to follow the main course, Hog Roast Pelynt’s team will slice and serve the wedding cake with ripe berries and fresh cream to the guests. In the evening, guests will be treated once again, this time to a banquet of beef burgers, chicken kebabs and sticky BBQ spare ribs.
