Cornwall-dwellers often call upon our team at Hog Roast Bude to provide scrumptious food for various parties and events, and over the years we’ve catered in many enchanting locations. Our county is, of course, renowned for so many beauty spots, from rugged cliffs to sandy beaches and delightful villages, with many off the beaten track. For a party that we catered just recently, we were in our own small yet friendly and gorgeous seaside resort town of Bude, which you’ll find in north Cornwall. We have excellent beaches, with those cute, little, painted beach huts you see on postcards, and the sands are often full of surfers waiting for the next great wave. The coastal path provides us with wonderful views over the water and even across to South Wales, and we have a fascinating history of shipwrecks and those who plundered the wrecks in the 19th century.
For a party at Sandymouth Holiday Resort in Bude recently, our team at Hog Roast Bude found themselves in an enviable location, where the lovely countryside meets the stunning seaside, in North Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We had been asked to provide our Private Party Menu 1 of hog roast rolls, where we slowly roast a hog at your venue for several hours until soft and juicy on the inside and with crispy and crunchy crackling on the outside, and then fill bread rolls with bits of both as well as generous amounts of our own homemade apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing. Some of the 65 guests being vegetarian, however, meant we would also provide an additional option of veggie skewers, which we roast nearer to the time of serving. With quality vegetables such as mushrooms, mixed peppers, aubergine, red onion and courgette all cooked fresh and served straight after cooking, these are just as popular with our veggie guests as the pigs in buns are with the meat-eaters!
By 7pm, after the hog roast centre-piece had rested a short while after cooking all afternoon, Hog Roast Bude was busy serving all the guests lots of yummy food to satisfy their hunger.
