Sun, warmth, seaside vibes and great tasting food! Hog Roast Helston had been kindly asked to cater for a family rugby tour at a holiday park in Cornwall. Where Hog Roast Helston set up had the most wonderful views of the coastline and the team were thankful for the shade from the gazebo with the blazing sun beating down on the hill.
For the 500 guests, Hog Roast Helston would be serving a completely desirable and enjoyable whole pig with the addition of three salads. The venue was enchanting, the atmosphere filled with fun and a delicious hog roast cooking away, letting off a fantastic aroma tantalising the tastebuds of the anticipating guests.
As the 1pm serve time arrived, the pork had been delicately pulled easily falling off the bone with how tender and juicy the meat was. The tasty sage and onion stuffing had filled the tray around the pig, soaking up the juices and giving the stuffing an extra special flavour. The crackling had been cut up into biteable pieces, the team could hear as people munched on them, hearing its crispness as it was enjoyed by many.
The salads had been prepped on site and fresh for the serve. Homemade crunchy coleslaw is always a crowd pleaser, the guests also enjoyed a mixed salad and delightful tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad finished with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
So to hurry up the serve because 500 people was plenty of mouths to feed, soft, flavoured baps were to be filled with the meat and stuffing. For the vegetarians, a medley of colour and favours on a skewer would be carefully put into a wrap with a squirt of sweet chilli sauce to give the halloumi and vegetables an extra kick.
Hog Roast Helston supplied the guests with a choice of sauces and some tunes so that they could have a dance and a sing-along as they waited for their scrumptious spread.
The food and songs went down a treat, at one point the entire Hog Roast Helston team had the entire queue singing along and doing the actions to baby shark! Such fun!
