One minute you’re choosing flowers and comparing playlists, the next you’re wondering whether 100 guests is somehow too many and not enough all at once. It’s exciting, of course, but it can also feel a little relentless at times.

Emma and Jacob recently trusted Hog Roast Penzance with their big day and under the steady hand of our catering manager Alistair, we delivered a spread that matched the occasion perfectly. The centrepiece was a beautifully prepared hog roast using fresh, free-range pork – slow-cooked until the meat was pull-apart tender and deeply flavourful. Sage and onion stuffing and a classic applesauce brought balance to the richness of the pork, and the skin? Cooked until properly crispy, it produced the kind of pork scratchings that guests were quietly doubling back for when they thought nobody was looking.
Alongside the main event, grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs gave the veggie and vegan guests something genuinely exciting to get stuck into – served with cool tzatziki and a punchy sweet chilli sauce that gave the whole plate a lift. Bread rolls, wraps, coleslaw and a fresh mixed salad rounded everything out, giving guests the freedom to build their plates exactly as they liked.
All 106 guests left satisfied, and Emma and Jacob were over the moon – which, at the end of the day, is exactly the result we’re always working towards.
