When a local family initially approached Hog Roast St Ives team about the catering for their sons eighth birthday party, the clients were unsure whether the team would be a good fit. The party was on a small scale and very informal. However, after meeting the team and discussing the menu options the clients plumped to go with the company for the catering as the team had been fun and showed a real family dynamic that the clients loved.
The catering package designed by the team for the clients was one that was informal and contained foods that the young boys who had been invited to the party would love. The fun foods included mini pizzas, vegetable skewers, Mac and Cheese and much more. The main highlights of the catering however was the slow roasted hog, which would be sizzled, sliced and served as the boys watched, and the second highlight of the buffet would be the loaded fries.
As the guests at the party were so young and energetic, it was thought that they would be unlikely to want to sit still for a formal dining experience. Therefore a buffet with minimal staff accompaniment was agreed by the clients and the team to be the best type of meal to serve. It was decided that just the chef and catering assistant from the Hog Roast St Ives team would attend the event as there was no need for wait staff. As part of the buffet package the team supplied disposable crockery and napkins so there could be no breakages by the rambunctious guests.
The boys were very curious as they watched the pig being slowly roasted in the Titan machine, and they asked the chef all manner of questions about the cooking process. The guests happily tucked into the delicious food and there was an added bonus of it being an educational experience for them too.
The clients were delighted with the delicious buffet, and with how friendly the chef and catering assistant had been with the guests. The small event was a big success and the birthday boy had a wonderful day.
