Thousands of holidaymakers have been affected by the current situation, with many being forced to abandon their plans to travel abroad altogether. On the bright side though, the popularity of staycations is on the rise, which is allowing Brits to appreciate the beautiful vistas that lie just beyond their doorsteps! Now, I know exactly what you’re thinking: what has all this got to do with hog roasts? Don’t worry, we’re getting to that part.
You see, just last weekend Hog Roast Torpoint was asked to make the short trip to Polhawn Fort. If you’ve never had the pleasure of visiting, this idyllic coastal spot is renowned for hosting breathtaking seaside weddings. But for one family, who had travelled all the way from Oxshott, it was to be their holiday destination.
A few weeks before making the five-hour journey, Tim had reached out to Hog Roast Torpoint to place a booking for 10 people. With some help from our catering manager, Paul, the client quickly decided on our classic hog roast menu, with the addition of a couple of meat-free dishes and side options to make sure there was something on offer that would be to everyone’s taste.
Tim was amazed by the vast selection of hearty foods we have on offer and the efficiency of our team, which made organising an event with Hog Roast Torpoint so easy! As the weeks ticked by, the excitement among his family began to build, until it reached its culmination last weekend.
After setting up the catering equipment in a spot that overlooked the sea, the Hog Roast Torpoint team whipped up a glorious feast of slow roasted pork, grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers and BBQ pulled jackfruit which was sided by a basket of gluten-free rolls, crunchy coleslaw and a refreshing bowl of mixed salad.
At Hog Roast Torpoint, we are grateful to be situated in such a beautiful part of the country, and it’s always lovely when we get to share those mesmerising views with others. The group arrived just in time to witness the pig being carved up, and after Tim and the rest of his family each collected a plateful of the wholesome food, they settled into the grass to watch the sunset which cast magnificent colours of burnt orange and yellow across the sky.
