Wedding prep is stressful – but you already know that, don’t you? There’s a huge mountain of things to do that never seems to get any smaller, no matter how hard you try. Finding a date that works for everyone – and matches vendor availability – is a mission in itself. And then, you’ve got to cross your fingers and toes and hope everything pulls together on the day. It’s a lot!
But what if I told you there’s a way you can enjoy the lead-up to your special day with as much zen as a guest who’s just discovered the open bar? Yes, seriously!
With the right team, everything falls into place; allowing you to swap stress for laughter, last-minute chaos for calm, and focus on the moments that really matter.
At Hog Roast Truro, weddings are our bread and butter – so you won’t catch us stressed or flustered when it comes to catering these all-important celebrations. In our thirty (plus) years of wedding catering, we’ve seen our fair share of hiccups, which means we know how to adapt quietly and efficiently without ever interfering with your day.
We also count ourselves extremely lucky to have built long-term relationships with some of Cornwall’s top venues – one of our favourites is the famous Barn at Pengelley. Surrounded by sprawling wildflower fields, peaceful lakes and a working farm, it’s the perfect spot for couples looking to embrace the great outdoors. Pair this incredible setting with Hog Roast Truro, and you’re looking at a wedding that’s smooth, stress-free, and genuinely memorable for all the right reasons.
In fact, we were back at The Barn at Pengelley just recently after being invited to cater for a wedding with 70 guests. As always, Hog Roast Truro had a blast linking up with the venue staff, and together made sure everything was just right. From setting up our catering area in the least obtrusive location to keeping the food service flowing like clockwork, the event was faultless.
On this occasion, guests enjoyed tucking into our hog roast with stuffing, applesauce and crispy crackling. There were also crisp salads and coleslaw on the side, prepared fresh on-site by our catering staff. Plus, for any vegan or veggie guests, we had rustled up grilled veggie and halloumi kebabs with tzatziki. Everyone left well fed and happy – which, we think you’ll agree is all that really matters!
So yes, wedding prep can feel overwhelming. But with the right team by your side, it doesn’t have to be. You can actually enjoy it, laugh a little, and make memories that last long after the cake is gone.
