At Hog Roast Bodmin we don’t charge per head unlike many other catering options, so hog roasts are fast becoming the most affordable and best tasting catering solution. Last week we attended a fantastic engagement party for a very extravagant couple, Lewis and Chantelle, who opted to have a fancy dress theme. Unfortunately, we missed the fancy dress memo so arrived in our chefs whites! The theme was film and TV and there were some fantastic outfits. Lewis and Chantelle chose to dress as Danny and Sandy from Grease, (a brilliant film!) We loved watching the guests arrive in their costumes and while all were arriving we started to prep our sides and salads and the pig was roasting, on this occasion it was a spit roast of choice.

ewis and Chantelle had done a great job of dressing the room, with some brilliant fancy dress style added extras to entertain the guests, my personal favourite was the ‘Head In The Hole’ photo opportunity. They really had put on a great party and the food was due to be served at 8.30pm. We were ready to wow the 100 guests, the smell of the freshly cooked hog was being noticed and many guests were in amazement watching the pig turning on its spit. Watching a spit roast in action is a fantastic theatre piece for any party. As we lifted the pig up ready for service the guests were already forming a que. We served our mouth-watering crispy crackling, tender pieces of pork, spicy seasoned wedges, vegetables and a selection of salads to choose from. Most of the food was devoured by the hungry guests, however we do always leave behind any left overs as a few nibbles for later on in the evening.
The feedback we had from this party was brilliant, we are very passionate about what we do so hearing some lovely comments from the hosts and guests was a great end to the night for us at Hog Roast Bodmin.
