Each November, Marcus helps to organise a Bonfire Night celebration on behalf of the local community centre. The event always has a great turnout, with locals coming to enjoy great fireworks, a warming bonfire, and a delicious catering option. For the last three years, Hog Roast Bodmin has been hired to cater for the occasion and our classic hog roast is always a big success. This year, our catering manager Paul will be doing the same thing again, with a tasty menu for the locals to enjoy. Our hog is always perfect for enjoying on a cold evening, and tastes even better when accompanied by brilliant entertainment!
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Bodmin team arrived at the community centre in the morning and set up our catering station on the football field. We began our prep by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it to roast to perfection for around five hours. Once ready to serve, the succulent pork was expertly carved and accompanied by fresh bread rolls, sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Additionally, we grilled pork sausages and veggie sausages to ensure that there was a main option for everyone to enjoy. For the sides, we provided homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, and a green leaf salad, which was perfect for creating a varied and nutritious evening meal. Our menu was a great addition to the event and we had another successful year of providing our menu alongside the fireworks.
