At Hog Roast Penzance, we love being part of celebrations that bring friends and family together – and the event at Kymaurah, Higher Kemyell, Lamorna, Penzance, on 6th September 2025, was no exception. This special gathering combined a 50th and 60th birthday with a housewarming, making it a day full of joy, laughter, and, of course, fantastic food for 50 guests.
The star of the menu was our whole roasted pig, cooked to perfection with crispy crackling, tender meat, and served with our signature apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing. Guests were also treated to a selection of freshly baked bread rolls and wraps, with gluten-free options available to ensure everyone could enjoy the feast.
To accompany the main event, a variety of sides were laid out buffet-style. Guests enjoyed a tomato and mozzarella salad, a fresh mixed salad, and our creamy coleslaw. For a hearty touch, there was a mixture of traditional and sweet potato fries, served with an array of sauces, salt, and vinegar to suit every taste.
We also pride ourselves on catering for dietary requirements. Our homemade vegetarian and vegan options were a hit, including grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (without halloumi for vegans), served with wraps, tzatziki dip, and a sweet and punchy chilli sauce. These dishes ensured every guest had something delicious and satisfying.
The food was served buffet-style onto wooden disposable crockery with matching cutlery, giving a rustic, relaxed feel while keeping service practical and efficient. This allowed guests to help themselves while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of a combined birthday and housewarming celebration.
With Hog Roast Penzance at the heart of the event, the day was filled with smiles, happy chatter, and plates piled high with hearty, flavour-packed food. Our team ensured everything ran smoothly, from set-up to service, making sure every guest left satisfied.
