Hog Roast Truro – Making Weddings Magical Is What We Do Best!

Hog Roast TruroIf you’ve been following Hog Roast Truro’s journey for a while, you’ll know there’s one venue we can’t help but rave about. And yes, it’s The Barn At Pengelly again. What can we say? Some places just get under your skin…

Set in the heart of the Cornish countryside The Barn At Pengelly is the kind of spot that screams fairytale romance. Picture open fields stretching out in every direction, little pockets of woodland complete with obligatory woodland creatures and fresh air that actually smells, well, fresh.

Yes, there’s a reason this place is a number-one spot for couples tying the knot. And on 21st February, Courtney and Mitchell chose this gem for their big day, bringing along 55 friends and family to celebrate with them. This wasn’t one of those huge, overwhelming weddings – it felt personal and relaxed. The sort of day where everyone had time to bond properly, whether on the dance floor or over the buffet.

And, speaking of buffet – because it’s the most important part of any wedding, am I right? – Courtney and Mitchel couldn’t have asked for a better feast.

After a beautiful ceremony, photo op on the grounds and a quick catch up, the guests were starving – which was just as well, because Hog Roast Truro had been hard at work all morning.

Front and centre stood our signature hog roast, turning slowly, the crackling blistered and golden. There’s always a moment when we start carving and people edge a little closer – not that we can blame them. The first cut through that crisp skin is like music to anyone’s ears. And underneath the crisp exterior? The pork was soft, juicy and full of flavour from hours of gentle cooking.

Hog Roast TruroHog Roast Truro kept the sides generous and unfussy by offering an irresistible selection of sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, a bright tomato and mozzarella salad, fresh mixed leaves, creamy coleslaw and herby new potatoes to round out the hog roast. We’d also made sure no one felt left out with a veggie/vegan option of grilled vegetable kebabs, which disappeared almost as quickly as the pork.

Courtney and Mitchel had an unbelievable day. From the setting to the food to the atmosphere, everything just fell into place. Hog Roast Truro

packed down later that evening feeling quietly proud. It’s always a privilege to be part of someone’s wedding day – especially in a setting as special as The Barn At Pengelly.
