Hog Roast Penzance has catered at some beautiful venues over the years, both urban and rural, large and small and for all types of events and parties. We can provide tasty food for all budgets and for any number of people, and whether you have a handful of guests or a few hundred, at a formal or informal function, you’ll get the same excellent service and gorgeous food that your guests will remember for a long time to come.
We were recently asked to cater a wedding at Burncoose House, which is a country house that’s a wedding and party venue in Redruth’s countryside, and with 30 acres of woodland gardens, it’s a great place for either. The lovely and secluded Georgian house sleeps fourteen guests and there’s a library with a large projector cinema screen, a billiard table and even a hot tub outside in the courtyard. The whole house and gardens are yours for the time you’re there.
For the wedding of Mr and Mrs Lai at Burncoose House, Hog Roast Penzance was asked to provide our very popular Southern Slow Roast Menu for 110 guests, served on real crockery. This menu gives you plenty of variety, so there’s something to please everyone, as you get to choose several meats and several accompanying dishes to be served. The meat dishes, with the choices including beef brisket, pork butt, whole chickens, sticky pork ribs, and spiced lamb, are all marinated with our secret rubs and then slowly roasted at a low temperature for hours, and are served with some yummy sauces. The accompanying dishes include coleslaw, mac and cheese, a Greek or green leaf salad, corn cobettes, sweet potato wedges or jacket potatoes. Sometimes, a customer may want additional or alternative dishes and for this meal, we would also be cooking our chef’s own gourmet sausages.
By 3.30pm, the queues had begun and Hog Roast Penzance was busy serving lots of guests plenty of our scrumptious dishes. Soon after, one of our team served tea and coffee and handed out lovely desserts that were provided by our customers and then it was time for us to quietly clear away and leave the bride and groom and their guests to party the night away.
