The sunshine has had Hog Roast Polpenwith reminiscing about some memorable summer events. One event that Hog Roast Polpenwith remembers well is a wedding on the coastal cliffs of Cornwall. The team had arrived super early so cheekily enjoyed an hour soaking up the sun on the beach before setting up!
As the groom-to-be arrived, he instructed where they wanted the team to serve from so, they started the set up in their designated area. Two gazebos were popped up one acting as a kitchen and the other as a serving station. The Bride and Groom to-be had selected a whole roasted pig for their wedding breakfast, this was to be spitted on site so shortly after the team had set up, the pig was turned on for the 2:30pm serve time. The sirloin beef would be put on later to ensure the requested pink middle.
As the guests wondered out of the ceremony, they were greeted with glasses of Prosecco poured and served from Hog Roast Polpenwith. The beverage was accompanied by canapés beautifully displayed on rustic wooden boards. Following the bridal and family photographs they went into the tepee for the wedding breakfast. This consisted of the spitted whole roasted pig, the meat was carved straight from the pig onto the guest’s plates, succulent sirloin beef, Yorkshire puddings, vegetables, sage and onion stuffing, rosemary and garlic baby new roasted potatoes and finished with a red wine gravy. Completely delicious and indulgent. The guests then enjoyed some rather humours speeches before digging into sweet and light chocolate profiteroles or vanilla cheesecake, both served with the option of fresh English cream.
One awesome memory about this wedding was the big red double decker bus that had been transformed into a bar! The bar was downstairs so that drinks could be served through a latch window and then there was some sitting at the top so that guests could enjoy some air-conditioned shade! It was certainly needed that day.
This year Hog Roast Polpenwith will be wishing these two a happy 3rd anniversary!
