Last Saturday celebrations were all go for Lorraine who had recently turned 50! Hog Roast Kingsand was not catering at a typical 50th birthday event but rather an Abba themed 50th birthday event! There was a retro sweet wagon, retro roller skates at the side of the dancefloor, Abba face masks and a jukebox! It was definitely going to be a night filled with fun! Lorraine had even included an Abba wig and retro hair band for the catering managers to wear so that they could be fully incorporated into the party – it was brilliant! Hog Roast Kingsand’s catering managers of course obliged with the wig and hair band as it added that personal touch for Lorraine’s enjoyment.
As guests started to arrive at 7pm, the Mama Mia soundtrack was in full swing and Hog Roast Kingsand’s catering managers and their team started to hand out the Bellini arrival drinks and selection of canapés. Lorraine had chosen four canapés; smoked salmon, gourmet sausage, halloumi kebabs and fillet of beef. Each as equally delicious as the other! The smoked salmon canapé especially complimented the Bellini arrival drinks. The Hog Roast Kingsand’s smoked salmon canapé is a layered treat starting with its soft brown bread base, smooth cream cheese and fresh lemon drizzled Atlantic smoked salmon top, curled into roses to make it look that much more appetising – mouth drooling!
An hour after the guests indulged the selection of canapés, the main course was ready. Typically known as Hog Roast Kingsand’s menu 4; Spit-roasted pig with crunchy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, herb-buttered new potatoes, mixed salad, coleslaw and tomato and mozzarella salad. All accompanied with a selection of soft rolls and sauces. When a pig has been spit-roasted, the meat carves perfectly and the crackling always turns out the most, satisfyingly crunchy crackling ever, therefore Lorraine’s guests were in for a mouth-watering treat!
Since the team absolutely smashed the event and Lorraine enjoyed the food and service that much that Hog Roast Kingsand’s catering managers and their team each received a £10 tip – how lovely!
