In Hog Roast Gwavas’s line of work 99% of jobs are happy events, birthday celebrations, wedding celebrations, anniversaries or christenings however, there’s that 1% where Hog Roast Gwavas caters for a funeral. It is a hard day for the friends and family so Hog Roast Gwavas makes the food side of it easy and stress-free. Pre-event communication is a major success factor in Hog Roast Gwavas’s work, it ensures the team knows where they need to set up and all their responsibilities and expectations of the client on the day. Hog Roast Gwavas had found out that Freddie, Dianes husband had died after a hard fight with cancer, rather than seeing it as a funeral friends and family were determined for it to be a celebration of his life with fireworks to be set off in the evening in honour of ‘the light of the family’ as Diane said.
The funeral was being held at a local church; the service was rather moving with everyone singing Freddie’s favourite song at the end. The closest family members then went to the crematorium and everyone else back to the village hall.
Hog Roast Gwavas had already set up and welcomed the guests. The village hall was filled with photos of Freddie, his positive energy seemed to vibe off the photos as friends and family members shared tales and recalled moments of his clearly quirky personality.
Hog Roast Gwavas fed the friends and family at their own pace understanding that some may not have much of an appetite during this sad time. The team served with friendly and respectful service a tasty hog roast with a side of colourful mixed salad and zesty coleslaw. It was nice that the friends and family shared tales of Freddie to the team as he seemed like a great guy.
Despite people coming together in mourning, Hog Roast Gwavas’s menus are an easy way to feed a lot of people and fairly cheaply, Diane was thankful for a quick, easy yet tasty option.
