Disco has experienced something of a resurgence in recent months, and who doesn’t love getting their groove on? Hog Roast Rackenford’s latest event was a very exciting vintage disco, only the finest flared trousers and 70s tunes were allowed.
The clients were hosting the disco at the Rackenford Town Hall, and 50 lucky paying guests had tickets to attend the event. After the events of Covid-19 broke the community spirit of the small town, this disco brought it back with a buzz. The guests were excited to be attending the disco, especially as the buffet was such a delicious highlight.
The clients worked with Hog Roast Rackenford to concoct a menu that would really hit the right notes with the disco goers. The main attractions at the buffet serving table was the BBQ 100% beef burgers and Chef’s own gourmet sausage, as well as the tasty chicken kebabs and meaty marinated spare ribs. That wasn’t all there was on offer however, there was also avocado and cherry tomato salad, coleslaw and a tasty vegetarian couscous dish available. Finishing off the buffet was jacket wedges and an assortment of rolls.
The serving time for the delicious buffet was set at 8pm, so the Catering Manager from Hog Roast Rackenford arrived at the Town Hall by 2pm. This gave the Chef enough time to set up all the cooking equipment before getting to work on preparing every single dish fresh by hand in the hours leading up to the serving time.
As part of the catering package paid for by the clients the guests had the use of Hog Roast Rackenford’s re-usable high quality wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery. The utensils were collected back from the guests at the end of the buffet and taken away by the Chef so that they might be washed and reused at future events. Furthermore, all the rubbish generated through the catering of the event was taken away and disposed of by the team at the end of the event.
It was a groovy do in the end. The guests had a great time and so did the Catering Manager, who was able to enjoy the vintage tunes while at work.
