Reclaim The Magic Of Your December Birthday With Hog Roast Truro!

Hog Roast TruroCalling all December babies. Yes, you lot who have spent a lifetime battling the curse of the combined “birthday-and-Christmas” gift. If anyone deserves a medal, it’s you. Your big day always seems to get overshadowed by twinkly lights and mince pies but it doesn’t have to be like that. With the right setting and some seriously good food, you can reclaim your birthday and make sure the focus is exactly where it belongs – on you.

And if you’re wondering who can help you pull off a celebration that doesn’t feel like a festive afterthought, Hog Roast Truro has your back.

We’ve catered plenty of December birthdays over the years, and the one rule we swear by is simple: feed people well and the rest follows. A great meal centres the room, gets conversations flowing and creates the kind of cosy, shared moment that sticks with people long after the decorations come down. Add a standout venue into the mix and suddenly Christmas doesn’t even enter the conversation.

Just ask Irene. She recently celebrated turning 70, and let me tell you, if anyone has cracked the code to making a December birthday shine, it’s her. She chose one of our favourite venues as the setting for her party: the stunning Chycara House. This tucked-away gem surrounded by woodland and gardens is one of those places that feels like its own little world – somewhere far away from the December madness.

And naturally, she called in Hog Roast Truro to take care of the food.

We spent the whole afternoon preparing a hog roast feast for her 80 guests on the 6th of December, and the moment that pig hit the grill, we knew it was going to be a good one. Juicy pulled pork? Check. Crackling so crisp you could hear it break across the room? Absolutely. Paired with sage and onion stuffing and our homemade applesauce, every plate looked like comfort on a bun.

Hog Roast TruroBut we didn’t stop there. Bowls of tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, creamy coleslaw and roasted new potatoes filled the serving table, along with marinated chicken thighs and colourful grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers for the non-meat-eating crowd.

By the end of the night, everyone was warm, full and smiling – and most importantly, Irene’s birthday took centre stage, just as it should.

Here’s to all the December babies: your birthday deserves its own spotlight. And if you want a hand making that happen, Hog Roast Truro is on standby. You know where to find us.
