We have been busy this week doing a large bbq and hog roast in Foxhole. The village is just down the road from our base and I knew a lot of the guests at the event so I was on my best behaviour. It was pleasant to be working so close to home I even had time for a cooked breakfast before I set off on my 2 minute drive to the event. We had a lovely 52 kilo free range pig for the event. I spit roasted it from scratch at the venue and we had quite a crowd at one point watching. It is great site to see a pig slowly roasting on the spit there is something hypnotic about watching it slowly turning with the juices dripping and the crackling bubbling up. By the time it was cooked and ready to eat every body was ready for some hog roast Foxhole pork. Ut was a Jacobs joint type of event so the pig was served with allsorts of different bread and salads. A lot of the bread was freshly baked and smelled wonderful.
